Writers Guild Award

Following the nominees for the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) has announced its favorites. It is believed that its results can predict the Oscar winners.

Writers Guild Award nominees revealed

Best Original Screenplay includes Girl of Hope, Hang in Palm Springs, The Sound of Metal, Judas and the Black Messiah, and The Trial of the Chicago Seven.

Borat II, Ma Rainey: Mother of the Blues, News from All Over the World, One Night in Miami, and The White Tiger will compete for the title of Best Adapted Screenplay.

The Writers Guild is known for its strict selection rules for the award. For example, scenarios that are not created under the jurisdiction of the WGA or as a collective agreement in Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom cannot receive the award. Because of this, other bounty favorites are missing from the list.

The champs will be reported on March 21st.
