In a recent episode of the Chanel Connects podcast, Keira Knightley explained why her attitude towards filming explicit episodes has changed throughout her career, and why she will no longer participate in them if they are filmed by men.

“This is partly vanity, but it also has to do with the masculine look. It is very unpleasant for me now to try to convey a man’s gaze. I’m too vain. I have already given birth to two children and would rather not stand naked in front of a group of men. I’m not talking about an absolute prohibition, but I won’t be filming for men in such scenes. ” – Knightley told about scenes when women are portrayed as a sexual object.

The actress added that right now she is not interested in “gruesome sex scenes in which oiled actors grunt.” Knightley understands the value of such episodes but is not ready to accept to act in them again. However, the actress can make an exception in the case when the picture tells about motherhood or acceptance of her body, and the director is a woman.
